Common Questions
Do you have a relationship with any MSP or vendor? +
Absolutely not. ClearPath IT Advisory earns zero referral fees, reseller margins, or vendor incentives of any kind. Our only income comes from client fees. If we ever recommend a tool or provider, it's because it genuinely serves your interests — not ours.
Will my MSP know I'm doing an audit? +
No. We use read-only API access that is indistinguishable from normal administrative activity. We never contact your MSP without your explicit permission. The audit is entirely confidential until you decide how to act on the findings.
What access do you need to our systems? +
We need read-only API credentials for your Microsoft 365 tenant (via an Entra ID app registration) and your RMM platform. We also ask for copies of recent MSP invoices and your contract. We have zero write permissions — we cannot make any changes to your environment.
We're happy with our MSP. Why would we need this? +
That's genuinely great to hear — and it might be completely true. But "happy" and "being well-served" aren't always the same thing. Many clients feel satisfied right up until they find out they've been paying for 20 unused licenses for 3 years, or their backups haven't been running properly. The audit either confirms your MSP is doing a great job — or it surfaces issues you deserve to know about.
Can we get a discount for multiple engagements or referrals? +
We offer 15% off when you commit to annual billing. For referrals, we prefer to keep things clean — rather than referral bonuses that could compromise our independence, we offer a one-time audit credit to the referring client. Contact us to discuss options.
What happens if the audit finds our MSP is doing a great job? +
Excellent — that's a real outcome and a valuable one. You get documented, independent confirmation that your IT investment is being well-managed. That's worth knowing. Many clients use clean audit reports as leverage in MSP contract renewals or to reassure their leadership team and board.
